Before you pay for a custom app

Do not build from scratch until you know you need to.

FlowLab is a Singapore app developer for SMEs. We first check if a ready product can solve the problem, then adapt it or build custom only when your workflow genuinely needs something different.

Our advantage over traditional app development

The foundation may already exist.

POSFlow, QueueFlow and our other products are built around common, high-demand business needs. This lets each SME start from an existing foundation instead of paying to recreate the same core.

A different pricing possibility

If the market needs it too, FlowLab may invest in building it with you.

We assess the demand

When your requirement solves a problem shared by many businesses, we consider whether it belongs in a FlowLab product.

You may pay less

If FlowLab chooses to invest in the reusable core, your price may be lower than commissioning the same capability as a fully bespoke app.

The boundaries stay clear

We explain what becomes part of the FlowLab product and what remains specific and confidential to your business before you proceed.

Available to review

See the working foundation before deciding what to build.

These demos show the workflow, not a fixed final design. Your actual screens, branding, terminology, roles and steps can be designed around how your business operates.

QueueFlow

Review customer check-in, staff calling, live queue display and service visibility.

POSFlow

Review checkout, product control, shift activity and the daily operating view.

EventFlow

01Lowest investment

Ready product

Use POSFlow, QueueFlow or another ready product when it already solves most of your operational need.

  • Ready foundation keeps cost lower
  • Upgrade only when needed
  • No custom build required
03Custom investment

Customisation

Customise or build from scratch only when the operation is genuinely unique and adapting a ready product would create the wrong fit.

  • Starts with the smallest useful release
  • Phased to control investment
  • Designed around your operation
Your requirement may cost less than a fully bespoke build.

If a capability has wider market demand and belongs in a FlowLab product, we may invest in the reusable core. Your proposal will explain what is shared product development, what is specific to your business and how that affects the price.

The FlowLab client standard

What you can hold us to.

Buyer confidence should come from clear commitments, not impressive-sounding claims. These principles guide every recommendation and proposal.

01

Fit before features

We first understand the operational problem and recommend the simplest suitable route.

02

Written scope first

Before paid work begins, you receive a clear description of what is included and what is not.

03

Cost structure explained

Setup, recurring plans and customisation are identified before you decide to proceed.

04

Start with less

We favour the smallest useful first release instead of loading the project with optional features.

05

Confidential by default

Your workflows, documents and commercial discussions are not shared with other businesses without permission.

06

Permission before publicity

We do not identify your business or present your implementation as a case study without approval.

Your business stays your business.

This includes businesses operating in the same industry. General product improvements may benefit all customers, but your identity, private processes, data and implementation details remain confidential.

Grant-sensitive project planning

Considering EDG support for your app project?

FlowLab can help turn the operational problem into a clear project scope, quotation, timeline and intended outcomes for your application. Eligibility and approval are decided by Enterprise Singapore.

01
Define the business outcome

Explain the current workflow, the operational gap and the improvement the project should create.

02
Prepare the project information

FlowLab can provide the proposed scope, quotation, timeline and deliverables. Your company submits and manages its own application.

03
Protect your eligibility

Do not start work, make payment or sign the supplier agreement before submitting the application. If you need funding certainty, wait for the outcome before committing.

Grant support is not guaranteed. Always follow the latest Enterprise Singapore requirements.

Before you contact us

Straight answers to sensible questions.

Will FlowLab always recommend a custom app?+

No. We first check whether a process change or ready FlowLab product can solve the need. Adaptation or custom development is recommended only when it creates a better fit.

What will I know before I commit?+

You should understand the recommended route, the first useful scope, important inclusions and exclusions, and the factors that affect cost before paid work begins.

Do I need to prepare a technical brief?+

No. Explain how the work is handled today, where it becomes frustrating and what a better outcome would look like. FlowLab will help translate that into a practical plan.

Will you share my workflow with another company?+

Not without permission. Your identity, documents, private processes and implementation details are treated as confidential, including when another company operates in the same industry.

What if an existing product already fits?+

We will recommend starting there. You can configure the ready foundation first and pay for customisation only when it adds meaningful value.

Why can POSFlow or QueueFlow cost less than a custom app?+

They are product foundations built around needs shared by many businesses. FlowLab can develop and improve the common core across the product instead of charging one client to create everything from zero. Your business data, private workflows and implementation details remain separate and confidential.

Could FlowLab invest in a product based on my requirement?+

Yes. If we assess that the capability has wider demand and fits a FlowLab product roadmap, we may invest in the reusable product core. This can reduce your price compared with a fully bespoke build. Before work begins, we explain what may become part of the FlowLab product and what remains specific and confidential to your business.

Could EDG support help with the project cost?+

Some business transformation and automation projects may qualify for Enterprise Development Grant support. Eligibility and funding approval are determined by Enterprise Singapore. Applications must be submitted before the project begins, an agreement is signed or payment is made. FlowLab can provide project scope and proposal information for an application, but grant approval is not guaranteed. Check the current EDG requirements on Enterprise Singapore.
